Starting the 2015-2016 school year, Council Rock School District has approved a new contract with First Student for the transportation of their student for the next seven years.
Before, students had to ride on torn seats on buses that have been bumpy and noisy. Now that the school district has signed off on a new contract they have received brand new buses for the students.
The new buses were also switched over to propane so they now produce less air pollution. They also provide a quieter environment for the student when riding the buses.
Despite this, after talking to a few students about the new buses versus the old buses I found out that the majority liked the old buses better.
Some positives that were brought up about the new buses were that there are more seats, and they have better heating and air-conditioning on them.
But, the new ones are jerkier and uncomfortable. The seats are crammed and disagreeable. They’re just not like our worn in, comfortable, old buses.
Overall, more students prefer to ride the older buses than the newer ones.
